On August 20, Maddie’s Colors: A fresh perspective on skin tone through the eyes of a child was published around the world. This children’s book provides insight on the life of a mixed child, expressed through her love of painting.
Amber and her illustrator Olamide have brought the character Maddie to life to share the importance of equality and inclusivity for people of all races around the world. Given the important message, this book has been well received, selling rapidly at Barnes and Noble, Target, Amazon and BookBaby, including online overseas sales in Australia and the UK.
Originally from Spokane, Amber now lives in Boise with her partner. Amber is open to sharing more about her inspiration behind the book and how she hopes to bring people together within communities both near and far.
Maddie’s Colors will be featured in Southern Idaho Kids magazine in March 2023.
